Belgium Home Shirt 2018

Unveiled jointly by sportswear giant Adidas and the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) on November 6, 2017, Belgium 2018 World Cup Home Shirt was well-designed for the national team to fight for the champion of World Cup held in Russia.

Belgium national team is under the global jurisdiction of FIFA and is governed in Europe by UEFA. It competes at the highest international level. The squad has been known as the Red Devils since 1906 because of its great victories. The team appeared in the finals of twelve FIFA World Cups and five UEFA European Football Championships, and featured at three Olympic football tournaments. The team players won the 1920 Olympic tournament and got runner-up of 1900 Olympic Games.

The new shirt takes inspiration from the diamond patterns on the classic shirt wore by players in 1984 European Football Championship where the national team reached the finals successfully. The new jersey has a ribbed V-neck. There are black, red and yellow rhombuses in the front with the association badge inlaid in their center and at the back showing Belgian national flag. Three dark red Adidas stripes are placed on both sides of the shirt. Besides, the yellow Adidas logo is shown on the upper right.

Red shorts and socks, both with Adidas stripes and yellow logo, complete the kit. Besides, the pair of socks is written with “BELGIUM”.

Made by ClimaLite technology of Adidas, the shirt can draw sweat away from players’ skin to keep dry and cool. As for environmental protection, it has to mention that this jersey is made from recycled polyester to save resources and decrease emissions.

“We have created countless football products, innovative technologies and classic designs for decades. The brand new football products are designed to show respect to those. Loyal fans hope to see the new shirt with something that is immediately recognized, meanwhile, with modern designs.” said Juergen Rank, the Senior Design Director of Adidas, a man who puts his heart on football shirts. When he listens to people disputing the jersey’s design, he handles it confidently. Therefore, when it comes to a nation’s football jersey, almost everyone has an opinion and at the end of the day it’s these people who will be spending their money on these shirts in order to show their passion for the team.
